WINTER STORM ON ITS WAY FOR NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA AND SNOW LIKELY FOR THE METRO!!!

The 1200z model run has changed from previous models. The track of the storm brings it south of Oklahoma city and into eastern Oklahoma. The storm is also a little slower ejecting out once it moves in. People in northwestern Oklahoma will see the rain change over to snow Wednesday evening and people in southwestern and into Canadian county may see the rain switch to snow late Wednesday. For most of the metro, we will likely see snow falling early Thursday around midnight. As of right now I say that the metro will see 1-2 inches of snow that will be blowing around with strong north winds 20-30mph. This will create problems for people wanting to get outside. A winter storm warning will likely be posted for the northwest 1/3 of the state and travelors advisories for the metro. Strong cold dry air will plunge south behind the storm producing dangerous wind chills and freezing highs. I will follow this more in depth tonight when the 000z model is released. BE VERY WEATHER AWARE DURING THIS PERIOD. I WOULD NOT BE TRAVELING THURSDAY IN ANY PART OF NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA OR ANY PART OF KANSAS. I WOULD WANT TO STAY TUNED TO MIKE, RICK OR GARY, WHOMEVER YOU TRUST. AS USUAL I WILL POST ANY ADVIORIES OR WARNINGS AS THE ARE ISSUED. EXPECT CHRISTMAS DAY TO BE VERY COLD WITH WIND CHILLS IN THE TEENS AND LOWER TWENTIES WITH A POSSIBILITY OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS.
